Grant Kirby (Director) G Dip App Finance & Investment, MForSc (Econ), BAgSc, MAICD, FFin

Grant has around 20 years experience in Corporate Finance and specialises in managing mergers and acquisitions transactions. Grant’s corporate finance career has included roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a partner with Deloitte.

His particular specialty is structuring and negotiating innovative deals that optimise the synergies to create additional value.  Grant is also passionate about investigating the fundamentals of a business to find operational and other improvements before a sale or after an acquisition to drive maximum value from transactions.  This approach led to Cambian’s ValueBuilder process for creating value in a business and driving value from transactions.

Grant has worked across industry sectors such as Health, Aged Care, IT, Software, Engineering Services, Maintenance Services, Financial Services, Energy, Manufacturing, Automotive, Agribusiness, Forestry, Wood Processing, Food and Beverages Manufacturing and Retail.

 

Ric Sotelo (Director) BE (Chem Eng, 1st class honours), MBA, CPA, MAICD, FIChemE

Ric has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate finance.  He is also founder and director of Chord Advisory Pty Ltd, Cambian’s sister company.  Ric has a substantial track record in M&A and in developing equity and debt financing solutions for companies and projects, in Australia and internationally, across many industry sectors including agribusiness, food processing, infrastructure, power generation, mining, oil and gas, minerals processing and building products.

He began his career in the early 1980s working for ICI Australia (now Orica) and Dow Chemical as a chemical engineer.  After completing an MBA in 1986, he moved into corporate finance and commercial roles at several major industrial companies and in financial services, including private equity, investment banking, project finance and corporate advisory roles, at Pratt Group, AIDC Australia, KPMG Corporate Finance and Partnership Pacific.  Ric has worked in corporate finance and corporate development roles in large and mid-sized industrial companies including Rio Tinto, Jemena and Molopo Energy, and has worked on transactions with the large investment banks.

Colin Gare (Director) BSc, BTech, GAICD

Prior to joining Cambian in March 2017, Colin spent 12 years in NAB leading the bank’s Business Improvement Strategy.  Prior to NAB, Colin led major lean manufacturing, business process redesign and continual improvement programs in Boeing, General Motors, Monash University and Smorgon Steel.

Colin has a Lean/Six-Sigma Master Black Belt from RMIT and is a Board member and evaluator for the Australian Organisational Excellence Foundation.

His role primarily involves guiding management in the practical application of systems thinking, lean principles and business excellence using Cambian’s ValueBuilder process.

Graham Scull (Director) BEng, MAICD

Graham was previously CEO of Chassis Brakes International (formerly PBR Automotive) and a senior manager in Bosch. As CEO of Chassis Brakes Graham led 500 employees with A$160m turnover and operations in Australia and Thailand.

Graham is recognised for building highly effective teams, sales growth, operational excellence and achieving outstanding performance in extremely competitive industries.

He has also held non-executive board positions for FMP Australia (Ballarat, Aus.) and FMP Asia Pacific (Thailand and Malaysia).

Graham specialises in lean processes, agile systems and operational excellence to maximize business performance and value.
